Mobile Fidelity has produced Original Master Recordings on vinyl since 1977. At their Sebastopol studio, they remaster records by some of the world’s most important artists. The long list of artists who have trusted Mobile Fidelity with their original master tapes so they can do this includes Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Santana, Miles Davis, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, and many others. Mobile Fidelity records are considered the gold standard for sound quality and are as close as you can get to owning the original master tapes.
Now, Mobile Fidelity has applied their talent and passion to design and manufacture a line of home audio components under the MoFi Electronics brand name. Every MoFi Electronics product is thoroughly engineered to meet the strict standards of Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab so insure that your music reproduction will sound its absolute best.
The analog components shown on this web page were designed in conjunction with Mike Latvis of Harmonic Resolution Systems, Allen Perkins of Spiral Groove, and Tim de Paravicini of Esoteric Audio Research, to ensure that their design and manufacturing quality are of the best possible. Further, Mobile Fidelity has opened a facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan that is dedicated to building the majority of their hi-fi components in the USA.
Additionally, many of the key parts used to make their turntables are sourced from America. The wood plinths are from Minnesota, the hardened steel parts from Michigan, the Hurst motors from Indiana. All these parts are tested before being used in their factory to be part of the highest quality products; products that they’re proud to put their name on.
The UltraPhono phono preamplifier, designed by renown electronics designer Tim de Paravicini, replicates the wide bandwidth transparency that the Mobile Fidelity mastering engineers demand. The circuits of the UltraPhono are based on the GAIN 2™ Ultra Analog system used in the mastering studio at Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, which was also developed by Mr. de Paravicini.
The Mobile Fidelity phono cartridges are custom manufactured by skilled and highly experienced artisans in Japan, and represent some of the best values in phono cartridges on today’s market.
